Watchdog
Have you ever come across a lost dog or (probably not as often) a lost cat while driving through a neighborhood ? Some of us would try and chase after the pet in an attempt to reunite him or her with their owner. More often that not, the pet bolts when you get closer. If you are part of the lucky few to win over the trust of the stray, the next step is to check for a collar to identify the pet - what if there is no collar ? The alternative is to take the pet to the nearest veterinary clinic with the hopes they can identify him or her, this is assuming you have the time to do so and feel comfortable having a dog in your car (both highly unlikely). The watchdog service tries to solve this problem.
What is the Watchdog Service ?
Watchdog is a WhatsApp chat-based service that aims to reunite lost pets with their owners. Users can register their pets using the service to ensure they receive a notification if their pet gets lost and was reported found by a good Samaritan.
How to use Watchdog
Send use a message on our WhatsApp number +27 72 756 6384. You will be presented with a number of options to choose from. Select register to subscribe to our service (you can always deregister by selecting the 'Deregister' option). To report a lost pet - select the 'I found a pet !' option.
